Apache Animation - Digital Fusion

I'm thinking of getting the Apache Animation tutorial and I was wondering why Digital Fusion was used as opposed to After Effects?

Thanks

Yup, I like node based compositing packages more. I think there was some problems with after effects concerning the Z-channel effects I used... can't really remember user added image

Thanks David & kbrown,

I'll probably still get the tutorial, as I'm sure there is a lot to learn.

Thanks Guys.

Cheers
