Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

3D scene for webpage

Hey, I'm making a new online portfolio, and plan to have this be the template for the main page. Basically, scrolling over each square on the hop-skotch will display the corresponding link name in the tv screen (which will be static black/white scrambling on mouse out) Since this is the maine page, I'm looking for comments critiques on what works/doeesnt with the image to make it the best I can, Thanks!

First off, its a great job. I think for me the only problem was that I had to follow the image down to the bottom to view the hopscotch (with my eyes, not scrolling with mouse) I wasnt drawn to the image as a whole in one go, I had to look at it all over. The composition of the objects is fine, just placement of the image on the page.

Perhaps center the image more, and scale it down a little, not too muchthough.

Otherwise thats my only gripe, great job again.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. I started creating the homepage. It'll pretty much look like this, with the hopscotch menu bar. Probably will add candle flickering animation later. Tell me what you think, Thanks

Very nice image user added image

Only thing is it doesnt really fit with the navigational layout of the web page.
Generally navigation sits top or left as people's eyes are naturally drawn to scan those areas first. With this kind of design you might be better having the image central (top aligned) so you scan it all before scrolling down for the news info (maybe even an anchor tag in the image somewhere which moves you straight to the news underneath?).
If you end up doing it all in flash then this wouldnt be an issue.
Just ideas however, interpret as you see fit user added image

You might possibaly want to brighten the image. to me I think it looks a bit too dark.

Looks good though mate

Yah I actually brightened it up abit. Any more though and I think it would loose its effect. I took it off the temp site and put it on the main, added the demo reel page and a few others. So now the site will be here permenantly:

Thanks alot. I'm glad it went over well. Iv'e finally started to work on the whole point of the page lol, the gallery with all my latest work:

https://www.ahearnart.com/gallery.html

It had to break the format of always having the hopskotch image as the menu bar, but I'll just add a smaller one on the side.
