Well, half a nurbs-sphere/or -plane can be scaled and then sculptured with the paint-tools (or just move the vertices up and down), to look like a small hill or ridge.
I guess theres ok with some abstraction, unless you wanna try make a whole scenery .
If you make a close-up-frog-perspective, a background pic would fill the screen together with the "rigdge" and your model, and maybe a few rocks ? or something on the ground. But I'm just thinking here.
