Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

can't asign shader to objekt

i have uvmaped an object and now there is imposible for me to
change shader.
before i uvmaped it, i deleted the uv's. can that be the reason? But i have uv's now though

i gets this messege:

defaultNavigation -source lambert10 -destination |polySurface72|polySurfaceShape135.instObjGroups[0] -connectToExisting;
// Error: Error while parsing arguments. //
// Result: Dropped lambert10 onto polySurface72 //

Have you tried reassigning the default shader to the object? I know in at least one case my shader network got messed up.

Deleting UV's before mapping is never really a good idea, whatever the case! :-)

Not sure what the error means. If your material is just a plain Lambert, then something is probably wrong with your object. If it's a more complex shader (ie with bump maps, ramps, &c attached), then I'll wager it's your shader...

Good luck!

Carry on...
