You can't do anything about the Red/Dead pixel.

25ms refresh is so last year, well the year before that.

8 and 4ms are more common these days, the Samsung Syncmaster 913n is 8ms (last years model about £180 at the moment).

The delay your getting will vary from app to app, but will show up more so with video playback and window moving (if you fast at moving windows).

It won`t have any effect on any animations you create, they will be created at what ever settings your using. Tho you may see some issues with your playback (note playback, it don`t matter how fast or slow your monitor is, it has nothing to with the creation of video/animation etc).

Take it back and say its to slow for your video needs !

There are plenty of very good TFT's @ the money your looking at.

Dell TFT's are some of the best at the moment, Phillips, Samsung, Viewsonic are a close 2nd. Avoid the Sony`s unless you plan to spend megabucks.

Try to buy at the top limit of your cash. 8ms or less and something you like the look of, after all your sitting looking at the thing all day !

Shop around for the best deals. Some places offer a dead pixel service (they check it, so you don`t get any).

Ebay is a very good source of them, just make sure to buy from a company not a private seller.
