my first car

I understand there are a few issues with it, but i have only been learning maya for 2 months, so I am learning steadily. Feedback, especially with relation to the render would be appreicated,
Also, can anyone tell me how to make my wheel trims shiny metal, i cant seem to get it right.
Also its a little pixelated as i saved it as a jpeg instead of a targa and then transferring it to ps

Looks good Clop, the door looks a little out of sync with the rest of the car, but overall looks pretty good. did you follow any tutorial>?

yeas, i follows one at digital tutors with the street car racer add-on. The door is not out of sync, maybe due to the lighting, making it look distorted.

looking Good!! Nice work, i've seen that tuotrial but aint got any cash to buy it!! You did the mobile not long ago too didn't you?

If you rendered in Maya software, and you used a reflection map on the cars body, then try mapping the reflected colour to the same image, it should give the same reflections as the body and give a "shiney wheel" same with the windows too, after you've done this you might want to adjust the reflectivity of the parts to make it look a bit more realistic.

Otherwise use mental ray and a hdri

i used matal ray and hdri, with fg set to 600.
I dont uinderstand what you mean with a reflection map using maya render? Will it give the same quality as mental ray.
Does anyone have any idea where I can learn about dirtmap, as the one i used which is just a little bit near wheel arch was a default stock image.
I want to be able to cover the car in mud and make it loiok realisitc in photoshop.

naive regarding animation.if this took 3hrs to render a still image, does that mean it would take like 50 hrs to animate a few seconds?

You probably be better off rendering all the images seperately and then compositing them in some kind of Animation software.
