Does the client own the models?

HI all.
I have just done some work for a client and now the artwork and animations are all done and dusted they are now asking for the models/Maya files. do they have the rights to the models or just the artwork /animations?

Dont know if anyone else has delt with this issue.

Cheers

Most of the time clients the do ask for the models and artwork... Usally you would sign contracts that state weather you get to keep the rights ..
