Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Starwars Ship question

Hello, major noob here

im trying to do the starwars ship tutorial, but i cannot get past the second session, when i extrude the wing and turn it from poly to sub-d some edges are not smooth, can someone help me with this?

the geometry is just like in the tutorial but somewhere im doing something wrong ive tried to solve the problem myself and have looked in the forums but its no use..

i'm not sure but from the pic it looks like you kept the original geometry, so in effect you have a low poly and a sub-d model on top of each other.
In the options box for the convert to sub-d uncheck "Keep original".

If this is not the problem maybe a larger pic would help to identify the problem.

err larger pic?? click on the thumbnail for full size, i dont think i can go larger than that user added image
and the "keep original" option is OFF so its not that

maybe it could be my graphics card not showing it right or something? coz i see that all the geometry is perfect just like in the tutorial

Have you pressed the "3" key, to show maximum detail?

Just that I saw the simple and correct answer kab after I posted mine, which was a bit away from that, so I deleted.
