How Do I Animate A Lava Lamp?

Okay,
I'm basically in curious mode right now... I'm interested in finding out how to make a lava lamp... for future reference. user added image Anybody have any luck in this arena? All replies and responses are welcome! user added image

Not sure but blobby particles with some weak gravity + subtle turbulence comes in mind first...
