How Can I Wool My Mammoth? ;)

Hi All

Iv just made a rough model of a Wooly (Not Yet) Monmouth and I was hoping to cover up a lot of my mistakes in the geometry with fur but iv never used Maya fur b4 and I cant get the thing to work all that happens is that I get a clump of hair in the eye socket  if you have any ideas It would rely be helpful, the download address for the maya .mb is https://www.theatrenomad.com/Mamouth.mb
