Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Lamp Shader

Can anybody help me make a shader that works like a lamp shade. Namley, one that has no transperancy but allows some light through. Another example would be like thin fabric or even plastic. The shader should glow a little on both sides when light hits it and transmit a reduced amount of light instead of creating a complete shadow. If anybody has ever donw this let me know. Thanks alot.

you could try activating Translucence in your shader.

everything starts and ends in the right place at the right time.
