i can see the eye LOL, the red i looks sort of like the ones in the movies Skulls. and the render looks really good to.

9 hours to render that!!!!!!!!!!!!!user added image user added image
its almost impossible because as i can see, you only hve an hdri and 3 sphere with a blinn material.

no, i used these ....., DGS, global illumination, final gather, secondary diffuse bounce, HDRI, and an area light, the render had full settings

still 9 hrs thats madness

tip for ppl wen doin render usin metal ray always batch render the single frame as this saves time an i less likely to crash


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

No- 9 hours is f*cking insane length for that.

But w/e. Oh, about the GI AND 2ndary Diff. Bounces- set the bounces to like 4 and turn the GI acc. to real low.

Anyway, soon I will release my own GI raytracer, and I'll let peeps test it on Maya scenes... I'll write it this weekend.

I hope that can render stuff like that in less than 9 hours...
(im working my a$$ off trying to implement Bidirectional Path Tracing (used in Mental Ray) and even possibly Metropolis Light Transport...(Metropolis is the most advanced algorithm used commercailly)

lol, no, it froze when my screensaver came up, it should have taken less than an hour.i rerendered it without the screensaver coming up, it took 57 minutes



ps,
my comp is bad, but it doesnt suk, lol, 1.5 GB ram is enough for me, lol

Yeah... the screensaver KILLS time. Thats y i have no screensaver for my comp.

57 minutes is reasonable.

depens on the screensaver... those that I did takes 0% cpu on my computer.
