This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Hello, i've been using Maya for about four months and would like to show some of the images I have made for feedback. These are for a game I'm trying to make. The images are of an environment and a robot I just started. I've never posted images so I hope they show up alright. Anyway, any suggestions on how to improve the images and make them look more real would be appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. I guess I can only post one image at a time so I'll make a second post if it works.
I really like the interior scenes! I think you should lower the reflectivity on the fridge though...it's like a mirror almost..maybe give it some bumpy/grainyness...or...you could make it look more like steel and the high reflectivity would work better.
The windows also look a bit opaque...maybe increase the transparency on those...a good way to make glass is to make the color nearly black, not quite...and then increase the transparency...You might also think about adding some "dirt" to the scene...everything looks very new and shiny and unlived in.
Looking really good though...it's already got the look of realism...just a few things that stand out.
Its a nice design as well...are you modeling this after your own house or are you using some references?
I designed the house in vector works and some of the furniture is modled after stuff in my home. Mostly it is made up. I agree about the frig though, thanks.
Wow! Excellent work Wishbonekenobi. I like the interior scenes - they are working really well. Aside from the comments made by the others, the only bit that is bothering me are the pillows on the sofa in the foreground - they just look a touch blocky, but other than that, great work! More views of the robot please and also, what are you planning to do with these models - are you developing the entire game or just part of it?
Here are a couple more images. I finished modeling and rigging the robot. I can try and attach a movie of half the robot. Anyway I am making these for a game I'm working on my own. It's kind of a continuing project I've been working on since I was a kid. Back then I was using Strata Vision 3d. I just started using Maya and Find I can do A LOT more.
It's sort of an adventure like game like the Journeyman Project was. I don't know if anybody else played that game. Any way I'll post more When I getr further.
If these are for a game... I might be worried that your setting and robot are a little too high poly... how many polys are the scene and robot respectively?
