Maya acting funny- is it my grapics card?

Hey all,

So i just got a new gateway computer and when i go to run maya and move around it jumps alot. I can't really move around the space, whether zooming or rotating at all cause it will always jump back to the original starting place. So i was wondering if it's my graphics card? And if it is, i was using a dell 8250 series before this computer and maya ran fine, and even though that comp is about 4 years old, would it be possible to take out that graphics card and put it in the gateway. I'm not sure what kind of graphics card is in the dell and since the motherboard was fried i don't know how to find out. Thanks for your help

Here's the spec's of the gateway...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual 3800 processor
2 GB RAM
256 MB GeForce 6100 graphics card

You could try downloading the latest drivers from NVidia and see if that works?

Hey i fixed the problem by taking gsters's advice by first unistalling my display driver and then downloaded the updated drivers from Nvidia's site and it seems to work fine now.

I tried that and it still didn't work, i'm using a 3rd party's driver now and it works but it's kinda slow when moving aound the scene esp. when i smooth a mesh, my old gpu was faster than it! very annoying but at least it works:angery:
