Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

This is the same tutorial provided by Alias on their site. Silver Membership or higher is required to view it, but the process looks exactly the same (https://www.alias.com/glb/eng/communi...itemId=2800057)

Dunno who was the originator (edu site - I think). But I got good results from the tutorial. I think this is the accepted way to deal with this type of rendered effect.
