Camera following objects [3rd Person]

Hey there,

I want my camera to behave like a rigid body. For this, I thought about simply let the camera track e.g. a poly-sphere (which is the rigid body).

Does anybody know, how to realize such a 3rd person view??

so you want the camera to follow behind the character? if so just parent the camera under the object and then move it back into position. Then when you move the object the camera will move with the object.

Thx! I found out about it a couple of hours later ;-)

Next problem I've got, is the following: I want the camera not to run through a sphere during following my target object, i.e. I want it to collide with the sphere. Is it possible to make the camera a rigid body in any way??
I tried to cover the cam with a rigid BoundingBox and parented cam and BBox, but that didn't work!

greetz,
R

you have the right idea, create a box that encompasses the camera. Then parent the camera to the box. Then make the box an active rigid body. You need to make the sphere a passive rigid body so tha they will collide.

it will take a bit of work and a lot of tweaking but you're on the right track.
