I was wondering If anyone has any good tank ref's
I've been outa the loop for a few days so I havent been able to model at all.

Tank Ref's? You mean references? There should be TONS on the web!
I did a couple of tanks myself a while back with a different tread tutorial. It is available HERE: https://www.noir.org/tutorials/3dTuto...tut/index.html
Basically, you create so many tread links and an equal number of NURBS circles. You attach each tread link to a circle with a motion path, then offset the U value of the path. You then select all of the curves and display a selection handle (you'll use this to select the treads). You then create a lattice and deform the tread to fit your tank!
The best part is that you can keyframe the tread sets so that they start and stop whenever you want them to.
Here re two tanks I did, loosely based on the WWI British Mk V and the 1918 German "K-Wagen". I have to bevel some edges, but the treads on both tanks work just fine. (of course, WWI era tank treads aren't as "flexible" as those of later tanks, but I rather like the way old tanks look!)
