Ok, I can't seem to understand one thing. I know a thing or two about character animation, but I don't know how does it works when you have to rigg&animate it for modern games? For example, do you make some anims and then export them to game? What can i use for rigging? For example, in some cases, i.e. when bending an arm, use either have to use lattice or some other deformer to get correct bending, but you can't export lattice's to game engine? I know it deffers from game to game, but they must all do it in similar way? How for example would I achive correct arm and leg bending if I am to export a char to a modern game(doom 3, UT 2k4,...it's doesn't matter which one, just describe it for a game you know how it works).
I hope I didn't complicate to much about this, but it's just something I don't understand yet. In other words, I would like to know, what's the deference between rigging&animateing character for a highpoly scene/short movie and rigging&animateing character for games?
Well to answer one of you questions. Maya can be used for making Sprites=Characters,Interactive graphics. Then u have to make various angles of the character to get the flow right. Im don't know what program makes 3D Games but if you want to make a 2D game. www.gamemaker.nl is the site for you. I love this program its what got me into making games. Best of all the program is free. Enjoy.
