quick question

i accidenly deleted a face a while back, like 3 days ago, so i have my 3d object missing a randowm face is ther anyway i can get it back

you can use the append to polygon tool to fill in gaps

I would suggest using your own wood texture as opposed to Maya's default

it seens to work fine in the chess pieces (as i put on one by accident) but the board i and get it to look right i think i might have to something to do with the subdivision im going try changing those, as for my own texture i had a hard enough time getting that texture to show up, im not going to abandon it just yet.

and that still doesnt anwser my question of why....

You'd probably need to adjust the UV layout or create UVs for it if it doesn't have any.
