animations on a site

I've been working on a site for some time and I need the proper code to embed an avi file into a website.

I've got some working codes but they seem to be buggy for me, I know many people here must have a site and must have aniamtions in the page... what code did you use to embed the movies and do they work with I.E, Firefox and other browsers?

the current code I'm using displays in I.E and firefox, but it only works properly in IE, in firefox the file plays once and ends, and if you click play again it shows a blank white space where the movie should be.

don't know if this is in the wrong place or not...

actually, you can't "Embed" .AVI files. I believe you just need to post a link to the movie on your site, and have viewers download it, because as far as i know Embedding AVI is impossible.

actually as he discovered you can "embed" it, more precisely you call one of the media players on the system of the visitor to please play it, which one depends on the default configured on the browser plugins...

to get a consistent behavior use avi to flash, make the flash video loop.
