Jedi Fighter - Need Input

Hiya..

while waiting for the comanche plasticmodel, i started a jedi fighter like the one from kurt.

btw.. Kurt did the front window wrong, the hexagon frame is set to odd, not even :p

Problem is : I found only 1 image on the net ( and the one from kurts model) to work from. So the front is looking ok to me, but I have not a clue how this thing looks from the back and bottom. I'm just guessing.

Maybe someone could post or email me a pic.

thx

Mac

looking great to me so far! There are Star Wars books out there that have the specs and pics of all the starships. Just stop by a book store and take a peek.

Done ( allmost)

Ok, i think it's done.

I say "thing", cause a model is never really done in terms of :

You'll find something to tweak for the rest of your life. user added image
So I had to force myself to back off and start laying out UV's.

I tried to post it in the upload section, but it's forbidden (for me). You can download the actual model ( with most of the UV layout done) at my website:

star wars is one of the coolest sci fi. and is awesome for 3d.
the ship it self is nice but in the the post where you show the wireframe the cockpit is going through the ship itself. user added image

A pint of example is worth a gallon of advice!!

AHA

Hmm...

it's not a bug, it's a feature. According to my pics this part of the body is bottom is intersecting there.

Neverless, nothing else is more easy than deleting faces :bandit: - Get rid of them if you like

or in the tongue of a well known jedi master:

..come the time to delete faces it has... :p

mac,

great model. Its really coming along nicely. user added image

Your not alone on this one buddy........

I've learned much from this tutorial also.
Although i'm finished with the modeling/texturing, i'm using this model to learn about diffuse mapping, animation, mental ray approximation editor & other stuff.

I'll post the completed animation/model when I'm done.

Working on particle exhust right now!

Looks cool

Hiya..
looks really cools ! I like the light from the right on the wing, Seems like there is a sun nearby.

maybe you can give ma a hint with the particles for the thruster. Toyed around with a volume prim and some light source but looks nasty..hehe

had to rebuild the complete wing cause texture is streching like hell when i convert to subD

haven't slept for 30 hrs now...this thing drives me nuts :headbang:

cheers
