Unrendered Patches on final render

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of a problem rendering.

Everything works fine until I add the metallic painted object. As soon as I do, large "unrendered" Patches appear. See below.

I have switched on final gather and upped raytracing to no effect.

Thanks for any advice, It's driving me nuts! user added image

Solution!!

Hi again,

Found out the problem and thought I would post it here in case anyone else has the same problem.

Basically, in my ultimate wisdom I had made the polys far too big, and my machine was having problems with the render.

If I selected everything and resized it down, everything blew apart! doh!

However, if you select everything and then do a polygons => combine before you shrink the problem is solved!! See below.

Cheers,

T
