how to constrain particles to a Isoparm

ive seen it done before . but i dont remember how. they had this sink and a drop of water was falling from the edge. it was all made of NURBS and the drop was folowing an isoparm.

now i would need a particle to collide into a surface and then follow the path down the surface. if anyone can help please...

you could mak it a chellenge of you own too.
