This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

well i would if i could remember right now i learnt it from alias special effects book

i take it u mean the multi coloured bit on the underneath of the shader?!?!?!

i will repost here some time with in afew days unless some one else has answered

if i forget just remind me

but to start with its with a layered shader so u can have more control


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

Go buy "Learning Maya 6: Rendering" it has a good 6 page tutorial on how to make it. I would retype it but its really long...and you have to mess with all sorts of settings to get what you want.

Theres a shader that you can download from Highend 3d (or it used to be there) for a CD
