Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Sure thing lealar.

What you need to do is insert some extra polygon edges, very close and parallel to the corners you want to stay sharp.

Have a look at the image. It should help you out mate.

Tried to PM you lealar. Guess you didn't see it.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. If you want those two areas to be sharply defined, then yes - you do need to add those lines there.

You may find you'll need to adjust a few verts to get the right shape, just keep converting back and forth between polys and suDs. Make sure you set the Tessellation Method to "Vertices" in the Modify->Convert->Subdiv to Polygons option box [ ].

Not a problem, If I can answer a question I generally do. I'm not here every day but several times a week at least.

Yup, it sure is a small world. Though I may not bump into you on the street next week however, as I'm in Melbourne.user added image
