This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
There a really looong time I didn't post on SM. But These days I met some good guys from here at CGTalk, and they asked to me, "hey why don't you post at SM anymore?" Then I figured out I shouldn't have stopped
This is a lowpoly model I'm doing. It's for a challenge in a Brazilian CG forum, www.3d4all.org. We have to make a redesign of a character of an old game. I chose a character called Tesse, from the arcade fighting game "Waku Waku 7".
Follow some images of the project.
The original character.
My concepts about her. The first one is older. I'm showing just because of the colors. But now I'm following the second one.
gster123: Thanks man. This is just low poly, we are supposed to do a game model for the contest.
There's no individual threads there :eeek2: all the constestants are posting in a unique thread.. what make things a bit confuse sometimes. But you can see the whole process on CGTalk, I'm posting there too.
Joopson: Hahaha, I never imagined that somebody in this world would miss me. Thanks! I haven't die yet, I can't until I reach a great level of skill on 2d and 3d. Then I'll be able to die and rest in peace, cause I reached my goals.
10000 tris, with 2x 1k color maps, 2x 1k specular maps, 2x 1k normal maps and 2x 1k glow/any other effects maps.
The polycount on my picture is 12,5 k, but is because her geometry is duplicated there. She has about 6.3 k tris.
Very nice work man. Really liking the the texture/colours, can see you've put a lot of fiddly paint work in. I reckon the eyes would look better if they didn't look as bloodshot, but that's just my opinion. Still a great model.
Thanks for your comments guys, and sorry for delay on answer.
There goes some rigging I did, as well as the weapon's texture. Pose is provisional, I'll think in something better later. And rigging.. well, I'm not a master of rig, So any advices are welcome.
Your texturing has improved leaps and bounds since last I saw your work (and it wasn't bad back then either). The proportions on this model are perfect. The final version of the red eyes is my slamdunk favorite over the two previous.
Comping your concept sketch over an old paper texture is top notch as well.
swankymonkey: Hi Dave! there's a long time since my last post here. I hope everythig is going well with you. I learned a lot of things during last year, and I expect to make really good pieces from now on. I'll be posting here, to receive some feedback from you and the other good guys. Mantain always an eye on my website too.
