Cap Nurbs

Searched the forums, found questions similar to mine, but not exactly the same. Okay, i've lofted a curve and have rounded one end (it has to be smooth) but now i need to cap it, and the cap needs to be smooth too. Is there some way of making a cap that is part of the same surface?
thanks

here is the object to cap:

part of the same surface, not really... but you can choose the last isoparm and then go surfaces-->planar. that'll fill the hole assuming your gap is all on the same plane. you can then group the items so they'll move as one.

or, you could try a surface fillet, that might create a smoother fill *shrug*

ok. tried. failed (not quite smooth enough. plus i had to resize the cap which was annoying, as it is a trimmed surface and still didn't get results as smooth as i was hoping) so i did the only other possible thing: changed it to poly and created poly and went from there which was annoying and isn't nearly as nice as what i would have liked, and the mesh is really ugly. but i don't think i had any other options.

kept original NURBS one though, in case someone comes up with some other idea.

how do you mean not as smooth?

don't forget what you see in your viewport isn't necessarily what you get in a render... and even then you can up the render tesselation of nurbs objects to fill in the 'gaps'

at the same time, if you started with a curve you can try a bevel or a 'bevel plus'
