Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

still not fixed on a idea yet. Still playing around

edit ** removed images as they no longer related to this project **

this idea is to have a gentleman with a small barrel on his back powering a cannon at his front. Instead of gun powder it uses compressed air/steam to fire the ammo.

Wacky i know and would probably never work but it looks cool

idea 2

edit ** removed images as they no longer related to this project **

This guy looks more like a solider from the civil war era but has a steam powered weapon.

This one fits in a little more with the "In Her Majesty's Secret Service" - well if we dropped the secret part.

might combine idea 1 (weapon) + 2 (character) = idea 3

idea 4

Horse and carriage.

This idea is to have half real horse half steam power horse. Wheels powered by motor for the back half for the horse. The carriage might have passages or weapons again cant make mind up.

Looking good, i think it would be cool if you add the back pack from the first guy to the second guy. and have it be a steam powered jet pack.

Well I`m scrapping all the above ideas
(anyone want to use them feel free).

This will be my 4th challenge in a row and I feel humans is all I make. My first was the killer chair thing attacking a human, the second was my space robot thing - which looked human and then the medusa project. That and the fact thats what I do all day in work (make human characters) so I wanted to do something different.
(oh I forgot about grimlock - well he transforms in to a humanoride character.

Going to make a "vanship".

They are sort of like a clipped plane. I saw them in the series "Last exile" (great show go buy it - you`ll not be sorry). Alot of the intstruments run of water and I beleve these fit right in with the challenage.

Going to build it like this one then change it after, giving it the personal touch.(like adding some guns for a start user added image )

right blocked it all in with basic shapes.(not pictured)

I`m just going to build the thing then take a look at the poly count as i know it says low poly perfured, but I`m no game modeler.

Started to flush out the cockpit area first as I have the most referance on that part of the model

I know i can be fast but mondays pushing it.

Adding afew lights really helps the look of this, as there is no textures allowed.

Is a transparant lambut allowed ???
