Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Maya 8.0 & Mental Ray Physical Sky/Sun Villa

:attn:
Based on Archmodel 3D template by Evermotion.
Maya 8.0 Poly & Nurbs Surfaces modeling.
Mental Ray Physical Sky/Sun, Global illumination and Secondary Bounces Final Gather.
Mental Ray Architectural Mia Round Corners materials.
XFrog Tropical Trees & Plants with Misss Fast Skin materials for the 3D vegetation.
Ctrl Fur and Ctrl Displacement to control fur and displacements.
Ctrl Buffers to output Ctrl Occlusion Pass, Shadow and ZDepht Passes.
For Shadow and ZDepht passes, I used the P_shadow and P_Zdepht shaders by Ledin Pavel aka Puppet.
Except for the Rpc 2D plant applied in post on the low right corner of the images, everything is strictly 3D.
Original Maya file size: 185 MB.
Software: Autodesk Maya 8.0 & Mental Ray
Hardware: Athlon 2.8 2.5 Giga of Ram

Nice Renders, but the car park ground is reflective, as is the decking by the pool and the table. It doesnt look right from those points of view. I know the wooden decking is next to the pool but its over done in the reflections, perhaps do a separate pass and mask it out to make it look like small wet areas. The chrome on the bars is to reflective and clean as well.

nice job overall though

very good, aside from what was already mentioned. I love these renders. Good modeling and texturing! My favorite shot is of the laptop with laptop screen showing maya. Keep up the good work. Plus I'm jealous, haha

Yeah, it is too reflective. It shouldn't be reflective at all.

I really like your scene and stuff though! You should model a shark or something just as a fun pic of something to be swiming in the water. it'd be funny! KUTGW

great job ^^

but one thing i 'd like to say about textures are "over new"

everything likes brand new...u know that 's impossible in the real world...

and also, ground reflection is too strong seems...

hey alex...
nice to see your renders and i reallly got inspired by your work....but actuallly i was wondering that how did u find PHYSICAL sun'sky in maya 8.0 actually its a new feature that has been introduced in maya 8.5...

anyways i liked the work and im presently working on a scene that is using physical sun and i face a problem in taking out shadow pass diffrently...can u guide me for this..??? actualy i dont have anything like CNTRL buffers with me so wht is another way if any??
