Complex UV Layout in Maya

hmmm....the blindata that refused to go

my scene gets too slow..thanks to the blindatas....7of them...i deleted them via edit>delete by type....but then they are still there...i deleted the subdiv entirely including the mesh...but the scene is still slow....but it made it faster somewhat...y is this happening? its so trivial but its starting to turn me off :-( the scene now only has a skeleton wih VERY simple animation(2keyframes only) but the scene is still more than1.5mb....should i delete something?

hmmmm....funny.....i deleted something(a romboid in outliner,what is it?) and eebvrything works like magic now....weird stuff.....

btw...while this thread is still alive....ill ask this.....how do u make softselection in maya? in vertex,edge and polygon selections?
