Iff After effects error.

I rendered out an entire sequence out in IFF fromat. The fcheck reads the image sequences fine but when I try to import the files into after effects, I get,

After Effects Error: Photoshop file format 45 :: 35.


Do you guys know how to convert IFF to TGA without re-rendering with alpha channel intact?

Or how to fix this problem in After Effects?

i do believe someone somewhere in this forum posted that photoshop does have an 'iff import' plug-in somewhere... if that's the case, you could create an action that saved a .iff file to a .tga file with whatever saving options you wanted, and then you could open all your .iff files in photoshop, use the action (just click the play button for each file... as long as you recorded a 'save as' and then a 'close' for the action it would bring you to the next file), and then you could open the .tga sequence in after effects...

i can't guarantee anything, but look into a .iff plugin for after effects as well. it might save you this step and allow you to import your .iff sequence with alphas *shrug*

iff is a native Maya file type, if you are rendering for a 3rd party app then try tga or tif as they have the best quality (imho). If you need alphas then go for tga files.

yea but he was looking for an answer that did not involve re-rendering... so that was my best bet *shrug*

Neo, as you and I both know... Hit Batch Render again. Or I suppose you could try to save out each image from fcheck as jpg or something.
