HELP

Hi all
i am new to maya and working on a project at the moment, in one part of my scene i am getting a problem with the shadows, i have tried changing the bias but i cant seam to figure out what is wrong. the strange thing is it is only happening in part of the scene.
i have attached a picture

Umm, whats exactly supposed to be there?

It looks like to me that theres no lights in your scene.

In addition to what's in your scene, what is your "Depth Map Shadow" and your "Filter size" settings? Is your posted picture zoomed in really close?
