Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Newbie

Hello every1, This is my first post. Its good to be here. I was looking for a forum like this for a long time now.

Alright, I have been using photoshop and fireworks for the past year and and looking to make a start in 3d design and rendering. I have started with maya. Alot of people have said that it is the hardest to start with but im really keen to learn, and was wondering where to make a start.

Thanks for the help

Welcome aboard taahir,
Start with your Maya help files. They include some basic tutorials and basic information to help you get a little familiar with Maya. Then visit the tutorial section of Simply Maya. They have good tutorials on modeling, texturing, etc. Post your works in progress in the WIP section and you can get some pretty good feedback to help you improve.

Since you have experience with Photoshop, you should do well with texturing. Can't wait to see what all you learn to do with Maya. Best wishes.
