Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Modeling menu - Human basic form

Hello everyone,

I'm new to maya, and basically to the 3d-design world.
After I installed Maya I went on the internet to find some toturials. What I found was this site, wich looked very good and helpfull so I downloaded the * Human Basic Form * I was excited, started up my maya and began to watch the movie... now the very first thing i needed to do after i created a save-folder was set my menu on * Modeling * . Problem is: I dont have that menu-section.... I only have:

-Animation
-Polygons
-Surfaces
-Dynamics
-rendering
-Ncloth
-customize...

Now before i begin i just want to know if this is important and where i can find this menu-setting.

thanks in advance.

When Maya 8 came out, they (Autodesk) redesigned the interaface. Modeling has been split up into 2 sections (Polygons and Surfaces (NURBS)). It might take a little while to get used to, but it's better.
