This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
this is what Im working off but the end result will be different. This is where im getting the technique.., dont have too much time to explore things alone. In the middle of an honors thesis about post sound from location to archive.
doing this in the mornings as I wake up before I start work.
lots of straight geometry.., Ill have to attempt the more organic stuff later. I am still onto the robot, maybe I can use her in this
dont have any reference for the render when its finished.., inside,,. yes.., but outside .., no! ?? Ill just have to wing it.., right now its a basic mental ray render
Hey, great job so far. I'm trying to get into the habit of adding imperfections (irregularities) into my models. You've done a great job with that. I like the way your corner bricks on the building are not all the same. I think it's all looking pretty good.
Don't be satisfied with what you can do but rather strive to do the things you can't do!
Exceed Expectations!
hey thanks there mate, much appreciated and happy you noticed because it is something I have been putting effort into. Its not a big thing in the sense that its well planned.., no! Its more just very subtle and completely random as it is in life. I figure if the wear and damage is too much, unless its a war zone or semi war zone, then someone will fix it. Theres a limit to the amount of wear one can put in a scene without it looking 'on purpose.' mostly I put it into 'vertice mode' (depending of course on whether its polys or nurbs) and just push the a fraction. if theres somewhere that I 'feel' needs some wear but theres no verts.., I add resolution for that reason and push the verts.., i dont think I have ever puled verts for wear, but im sure that would crop up in certain situations.., the 'sculpt surface tool' is great for that too.., particularly the corners.., I used it on the bricks.
