Axis Focus

What is axis focus?

Here is the the sentence where it came from:

"To change axis foucus using hotkeys:
o Press and hold on the transform keys:

w- for move;
e - for rotate;
r - scale
"

take a cube and rotate it randomly.

when you select the move tool. the manip points still up cause it orients itself to the world/local set up. y-axis is up e.g.

if you chose object the manip would rotate itself with the object, like it happens with rotate manip for example.
