Yea I felt the same way when I wanted to choose my major. But I decided to go the safe side and major in something more secure and mainstream while at the same time build my animation skills independently and try to develop a successful reel to send to companies.

Moe choose wisely thats what happened to me. I went to a school that supposedly taught 3d and I took a total of 4 3d classes thats it. The rest were video, special effects and audio classes, which you need to know but now I am practicing and buy dvd,s and books because I didn't learn enough at the school to get me in the 3d field. Don't give up I'm not.
