Maya has Weak Render !

Hi every body .

I have several versions of " Maya unlimited " but why the render is very weak in each version 4.5 ,6.0 , 8.0 , in the other hand Cinema 4d , 3D max , and lightwave have powerful render ? could be I have a problem ,please I need your Advices to get good render for maya because it's a magnificent software.

eh?? Weak render?

Think you need to have a look at some tutorials, the software render can do awesome jobs, if your after photorealistic render ing, look into mental ray.

Hi s2success,

Maya's own renderer is very good.

Ok it doesn't have FG, IBL or any of that other fancy stuff but it's quick and if you put the work in with the scene lighting you can get outstanding results.

If you can't get on with the internal renderer you can always use MentalRay (as Steve so rightly suggested) which comes with Maya or look into other 3rd party renderers like renderman, turtle, rendition, maxwell......etc.

Give it a proper go and look into tutorials, you'll be surprised with what you can do with it.
