I'm just going to ask (as a former 3dsmax user) what are the reasons you ask this question for? Point being that if you're happy with max then why bother? I wasn't happy with it but I might have completely different reasons/preferences than you do. Nevertheless, it is good to know the strengths and weaknesses of the major players (none of them are perfect) so you know what is the most appropriate tool for the given task...
