quick mudbox question

i'm starting to learn mudbox, what i wanted to know is do you have to lay out the uv's for your base mesh in maya, before sculpting, or can you skip that and go right into budbox

you dont need to, but i would recommend it. if you want normal maps and such, it needs to be UV mapped.
