selecting every second edge loop possible?

Hi,

I've got a cylinder with loads of divisions because I want to scale down every second one to create a series of ridges around its circumference, like you get on a volume dial.

Is there an easy way/ script to select every second edge loop?

cheers

gubar

I looked at the mel and nothing is visibly scripted when you select and edgeloop or even every second one, and there is only script after you scale down said egdeloops and deselect the object. Trying to repeat said script only scales down the whole sphere. So I'm weary to said tools, but then again with my limited experience I could be severely wrong.

Bonus tools - are they only available to subscribers?

Managed to just select them (took a while) but it would be a handy addition to have.

cheers for the heads up

Nah you can get them form the area if you register.

Looking at it it selects evey n edge not edge loops, but you might be albe to mod it.

In Maya 2008 (and maybe 8 - 8.5) there's a Select Edgeloops tool. With that tool, just double clicking on an edge will select an entire edge loop. So you just have to dbl click every other edge.

@Alexender,

You can see everything in the script editor,

You need to select

History > Echo All Commands.

Now you can see everything maya is doing.
