Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
Hi Folks,
I am fairly new to this forum. Let me introduce myself – I am Bukka and we have recently started a company Pranali Systems Technologies with the core focus being on R&D. We have a patented technology to perform Set operations (UNION / Intersection / Difference) in hardware circuitry and our hardware circuitry can go as a PCI card. I understand that SET operations are extensively used in CSG (Construct Solid Geometry) and CSG is used is extensively used in 3D Modelling tools like Maya, 3DS max etc., Normally the Set operations are performed in software and with our circuitry, we help do things much faster. Normally any thing in hardware is 10 times faster then in software.
Some one would consider our solution only when the software process is taking longer time. I spoke to some of my friends working in Gaming technology and the feedback given to me is – Though CSG is used even in Gaming, since CSG is not used in rendering, speed is not such a crucial issue there. However in Maya applications like Movies etc., where large and complex set-ups need to be made, we can help do things faster.
Wanted to seek opinions from experienced people with this background –
1. Are CSG / SET Operations used in Maya / 3D S max applications.
2. Please validate our assumption that in 3D modeling applications like movies etc., since large and complex set-ups need to be made CSG operations take longer time. Thus our SET circuitry can have good applications there.
