simulating muscles in maya

hi!

I am looking for some tutorials concerning the simulation of muscles in maya!

Does anyone know some good tutorials for me?

What version? 2008 Ext 1 has muscle built in, you need to be a gold member to get it though.

I'm using maya 2008 but I am not a gold member...

are there other ways to simulate muscles in maya?

I'm searching for tutorials...

i beleive the tutorials talk about using spheres as deformers or something like that

take a look at the tutorials that came with maya, i swear i saw it mentioned in there

The old way of sumultaing muscle in Maya was a total pain in the a**e to set up and would have been dealt with by either the modeller or rigger.

As far as I ever read deformers were used to push and pull spheres or created objects using SDKs and MEL (i think) to allow a bone joint to bend and at the same time deform the muscle, then the outer layer of skin would be forced to react using soft bodies ( i may have this totaly wrong, but this is how I read it).

if you do have have 2008 exp1 then theres a digital tutors tutorial in the rigging section

the muscle module is quite complicated.., the 'old' way is easy.., but too much to explain.., yes, set driven keys on geometry scale under the 'skin'
