the toon shader looks cool I've never experimented with it before

How do i stop this crinkling when i move the ik handle for the arm?

dont animate the arms in IK?
hes not picking anything up, and even if i dont think an IK solution is really needed.

And the issue is probably your skin weights.

I thought that your not supposed to rotate and move the joints them selves?

What I was taught, You should not rotate the joints before binding.
But after binding, You can move them freely. In my first rig I never used any IK handles. I move the joints on their own to do posing. To make the joints easier to grab, I displayed the joint's selection handles and move them outside the geometry.
Those + signs are the handles.

Nice Kirby you got there. I never use the toon shader though.
Are you gonna model all 100 kerbys?

im loving the whole toon look, you can create something that looks cool in minutes

and as you have probably noticed, rigging is not my strong point, but on friday next week ill be getting a book that should finally cure my rigging ignorance

you should start with something simple that doesn't have hair or involve you having to remake the whole body like megaman or the cyber ninja
