Help Maya Wizard....

hi everyone i am new to this forum and i am new to Maya , please can any one help me why i can not see any thing if i will convert it to "polygons to subdiv" i know its preview but before i was using maya 8 and even if its preview i can see it in render , but now i am using maya 2008 and when i press "polygons to subdiv " in render i cant see anything zero by the way i am using Vray , other thing if not polygons to subdiv i can see it , please helpppppppppppppppppppp

VRay for Maya 2008?, not stable enough right now so its not worth it, just use maya software or Mental ray
