Dog

Ive started modeling a dog, i thought it would make a nice change from pachyderms
Only really started on the head, i think its important to note that this is not a specific bread or a friendly family dog
Besides the creases any C&C? Obviously only just started

it's nose looks more like a pigs than a dogs nose, especially with the shape of the head

are you using Bolt as your reference?

...I think the ears look kinda funny, quite square near the base where they meet the head.

I think it looks like a Shiba Inu, if thats what you were going for then ide say it looks pretty good so far but different angles would be helpfull for crits.

I started using bolt as a reference but soon realised that that wasnt a good idea, so i used my own dog as a ref (cocker spaniel)

Thanks for the crits
Im definitely with you on the ears, not sure what to do to sort them tho...
I agree there's something wrong with the nose/snout, cant put my finger on it though

I just think the head is too big or snout is too small... However if i were in your position i would aim for a specific breed of dog as it will make your life easier and give you better references for what you want to create.

i thought it was a pig-fox-hybrid user added image
i think mainly because the ears look a little weird (maybe too small? too narrow at the bottom?)

and the nose is too small compared to the nose... (um... i dont know what dog parts are called) the thing with the holes for sniffing looks too small for the part of the head that its on...

maybe it looks like a pig because the cheeks are so round and high?

The nose looks too small for the snout... snout is the part the nose it attached to. Just figured I'd let you know.

blocked out the body and worked on the nose, plus a few other minor changes. Im not ready for crits on the body but I need some for the snout
Im still not sure how i should change the snout. do you think the new nose looks better?
I had a bash at the ears but I not really sure how to sort them, I might go in a completly different direction with them, like a jack russell
I want the ears to look a bit like this https://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/...t-friend-1.jpg
but im not really sure what to do to get them there
do you think they should be bigger?
any c&C is greatly appreciated

It's starting to get there elephantinc,

About the ears, I agree they need to bit slightly larger, and I think the part where they enter the skull needs to be "Flattened" a little, and have slightly more of a corner to them, they look slightly to curvy there at the moment.

I've added an image to illustrate what I mean, hope it helps!

Also I think the eyes sockets are rotated slightly to much, only a little. And the top lips could do to bit more rounded, the way they look now only really happens when a dog snarls, the ones in the image I attached show what I mean.

Apart from that it's looking good so far!
