Are you better at programming or artistic pursuits?

Follow your skills. Be good at what you do and you'll find it easier at every step of the way.

oh, one other thing: if you're really good at either the arts or programming, study that one in college, but make yourself try to be good at the other in your spare time.

I started doing a computer science course 3 years ago at uni but changed a yr or so ago and am now in the final semester of a design course (where i am "taught" maya user added image)

Like you I couldnt decide which path to take and ultimately I chose the wrong course at first

Research both options mate and speak to potential lecturers. In any case, If u do decide once u start a class that its not for u - nobody can stop u from changing onto another one!

one more bit of advice: what you did in college won't limit what you do afterward if you want to do something else badly enough.

Thx a lot, I'll think about it thoughty....
Is it possible to gain some kind of work experience
(in 3D/CG or programming) before getting into University?

I guess I should post it in Members Lounge instead of here...
Obviously, it's not really maya related...
Can someone move this thread to the lounge ...thx
