This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

- Patic Rider - : Super Villain Challenge

I'm in.

I will go for a character model based on my game project i'm currently working on. So the story goes....:

This is a rider from the forest land where lots of unknown creatures inhabit it. The riding thing will be in wolf style with that kind of topology and the rider will be from the same race. I will make the model low poly to fit the torque game engine. I'm currently working on the concept.


This is the basic ... i will think about abilities, magics etc... stay fresh !!!

So i'm working parallel on this project and on mine ... those are the concepts so far tonight i will finish my concept art ... Yeah i know i can't draw but i get the idea how the things must look like ... and the basic structure ... i'll start a 2D thread and i will start drawing @ Monday when i get my wacom !!!! :attn:

The saddle

I just have my 1st wacom tablet and i'm starting to practice ... here is a fast concept of the saddle ... it's really hard to get use with the tablet !

i will tweet here there... but it's pretty much final low poly version.
Now just to model the saddle + some armor ( or not ... ) and going for the main character riding this thing.

Adding some armor for now the beast is done ... as soon as i make a new concepts with more armor on it i will post it again but now i'm going to model the rider...
1600 polys is the model

The rider model ... a lot more tweaking till final shape of the rider and the beast ... but this is a bit of finished ... 2-3 days tweaking and i'm going into Zbrush to do normal maps.... and the texture will be pain full due to my nonexperience Ass... @ texturing...

So here are some pics of the progress :
