Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

how to create virtual tours

does anybody have experience building virtual tours?
what software is necessary to create the possibility to 'walk around', and I mean the buttons in your screen to go left or right, or to zoom in!
Some cool examples would be nice!

Yeah i was @ National Competition of Information technology in my Country and exactly the same thing was made by some students...

here is some advices

They make all the tour in 3D. By that they model all the thing that they need houses etc...

So how this is done the tour...

You just simply animate the camera and use some program like after effect maybe i don't know.

1st you animate the camera to go left in your tour
2nd you set a script to play that animation if the user press the button...
All this is on a simple picture font and when the user press the button the animation is played and it has the effect like a tour...

I know how to do it ... i hope you get some info by that ... i could not explain all the things sorry....

scripting might be a good idea, however you do have to run through the animation first to push the next button and turn the other way..
Does anybody know of some good software that can digest 3d models into an interactive walkthrough?

Try Flash i think it just might work with flash.
And if this does not help i think After Effects will do the job but i'm not specialist @ those programs so can't help you at all
