Boat Scene!

So hey,
I started modeling a boat scene, and I am going to hand paint all the textures (which sucks to do, so boring)

Anyway, here is the basic scene, with the dock texture so far.

Any hints at handpainting? (especially grass and stuff)

The boat is that brown thing. Lighting is off.
Thanks, everyone!

No, I mean within photoshop.
I UVed everything, and I was able to hand-paint the texture for the dock, but once I move on to the beach's texture, I think I will have trouble painting the grass, so I am wondering how other people would go about painting grass.

Also, forgot to mention that C+C are very much appreciated and recommended. I have never attempted anything quite like this before, so I need all of the criticism I can get! user added image

what...?

andy, out of curiosity, how else would you make the colour maps if you didn't do them in photoshop or in maya's paint?

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

sorry Chirone, I don't understand what you are asking.
Is it related to what I am doing here? I am just using photoshop.
Other ways though would be in Zbrush, or simply vertex painting within maya (which is pretty limited).

Sorry if that isn't what you are asking, haha.
I must be tired :p

no i think that was what i was asking

i only asked because you mentioned in your first post that you had to hand paint it which implied there was an alternative way

Oh, the other option would be photo-sourcing. which I will not do at all in this scene.
